Indonesian health leaders and Australian researchers developed the Value-Based Digital Health Innovation Canvas, or VDHIC, to help hospitals design and implement value-based digital health initiatives. The toolkit, created by Indonesian Australia Awards Fellows with Monash University digital health researchers, addresses persistent barriers to scaling digital transformation across Indonesia, including alignment of clinical value, stakeholder engagement, and performance measurement.
Although not an AI technology itself, the VDHIC is relevant to AI-driven health projects, offering a framework to evaluate clinical impact, data needs, governance, and integration into workflows. By guiding project design around value and measurable outcomes, the toolkit aims to reduce risks when deploying AI tools such as clinical decision support, predictive analytics, and remote monitoring, and to support broader adoption in Indonesia’s health system.
