HIMSS is expanding its Global Insights research program to accelerate adoption of artificial intelligence across health systems worldwide. The initiative will broaden benchmarking, case studies and regional analyses to clarify clinical workflows, governance, data quality and safety considerations tied to AI deployment. HIMSS intends to provide healthcare leaders with evidence-based guidance on procurement, validation and workforce training to reduce deployment risk and support clinical decision-making.
The expanded research will bring together provider organizations, industry vendors and policymakers to generate interoperable frameworks, ethical guidelines and implementation playbooks tailored to diverse regulatory contexts. HIMSS aims to surface real-world performance metrics and lessons from pilots to inform vendor selection, monitoring and equitable AI use. The effort underscores the sector’s push for transparent, clinically safe AI tools that integrate with electronic health records and improve patient outcomes.
