Aidoc has unveiled its Diagnostic AI Consortium, assembling some of the largest hospitals and health systems in the United States to tackle how AI-powered diagnostics are developed and governed. The initiative aims to establish shared standards for evaluating diagnostic AI, including validation methods, safety checks, and governance processes. CEO Elad Walach said the goal is to scale AI responsibly while shortening the time from scan to diagnosis for every patient, improving throughput without compromising quality across diverse radiology workflows.
By harmonizing metrics for performance and reliability across institutions, the consortium seeks to address interoperability challenges, data sharing, and ethics in clinical AI. The effort could set benchmarks that guide regulatory alignment and vendor accountability, accelerating adoption of AI tools in radiology. In doing so, it emphasizes patient safety, reproducibility, and trust as hospital systems move toward broader, more efficient AI-enabled diagnostics.
