HIMSS Europe is driving momentum for health IT innovation across the continent by convening policymakers, providers and vendors to address digital transformation, interoperability and emerging AI applications. Sessions highlighted practical uses of machine learning for diagnostics, workflow automation and population health analytics, while stressing the need for standards, clinical validation and cross-border data governance to scale solutions safely.
Speakers and exhibitors underscored AI’s potential to improve diagnostics, patient triage and operational efficiency, but warned about bias, transparency and regulatory hurdles that could slow clinical adoption. HIMSS promoted collaborations between startups, health systems and regulators to pilot AI-driven tools, with emphasis on workforce training, ethical frameworks and robust real-world evidence to ensure safer, equitable deployment across diverse European health systems.
